The evening will include Brian Williams, anchor and managing editor of NBC Nightly News, serving as master of ceremonies. The MMRF is proud to honor Tom Brokaw, special correspondent for NBC News, with the MMRF Spirit of Hope Award. William N. Hait, M.D., Ph.D., global head of research and development at Janssen Research Development, LLC will receive the MMRF Corporate Chair Award. The featured music will be Wynton Marsalis, an internationally acclaimed musician, composer, bandleader and educator and Lincoln Center's managing and artistic director of jazz.
The MMRF's Fall Gala is the largest and most prominent fundraising event in Fairfield County. It is attended by more than 1,300 people, including many celebrities and the nation’s most prominent business executives and high–impact philanthropists.
The event also features a premier silent and live auction. The silent auction will be open for bidding on Thursday, Oct. 30 via an online auction website. You do not need to attend the event to participate in the online auction. Past auction items included: a VIP package to a Lady Gaga concert, a luxury vacation in Costa Rica, backstage passes to a John Mayer concert, a stunning Matisse print, a harmonica played by Stevie Wonder and a guitar autographed by Jon Bon Jovi.
