The weekend event will feature a concert from singer Terry Thompson, a potluck supper and dancing from Friday, Feb. 21 to Sunday, Feb. 23, at Second Congregational Church at 139 E. Putnam Ave. in Greenwich.
On Friday, Feb. 21, Thompson is set to lead a class on songwriting for young people. The concert is set to start at 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 22, and is set to feature participation from the Second Congregational Church Youth Choir. The potluck supper will follow at 5:30 p.m. before square and line dancing at 7 p.m.
Thompson is set for a second concert at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, during the church's service.
"An accomplished singer and songwriter, Terry Thompson has had several songs and a CD, 'That’ll Work,' published and recorded. He has toured extensively across the United States and in such countries as Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Ukraine, Australia and Guam with musical groups including America, Three Dog Night and Charly McClain," representatives said.
Admission to all Country Weekend events is free, with a suggested donation of $10 for the Saturday, Feb. 22, concert. Reservations at the Second Congregational Church website are suggested for the potluck supper and the square and line dancing.
