“The show of community support we receive at ‘Puttin’ on the Dog’ touches us deeply as we continue to advocate for lifetime care and ownership of dogs,” said Executive Director Kristen Rice. “We especially value the contributions of our sponsors who appreciate that the mission of our event remains the same as it did since its inception - finding loving homes for wonderful animals in need.

In addition to dog and cat adoption, the festival will feature 50 vendors and a live performance by R&B band Billy and the Showmen. Thousands of dog lovers throughout Fairfield and Westchester Counties are expected to attend.

Attendees can enter their dogs into one of more than 12 different competitions such as a kissing and costume contests and a dog/person lookalike contest.

The Armonk, N.Y. -based nonprofit organization's mission is to give a safe and healthy environment to dogs as they wait to be adopted.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults or $25 for a family package. Admission is free to children under 12.
