The GTP's Town Stage will feature six local bands to kick off the day's performances at noon. Created to celebrate the diverse and abundant talent within the Greenwich community, the Town Stage slots are open to Greenwich residents of all ages, backgrounds and skill levels. GTP provides professional-grade stage, sound, lights and backline in exchange for your performance.
"Not only is this an excellent opportunity for local bands to perform for their Greenwich community, they have the once-in-a-lifetime chance to open for Grammy winners Darryl Hall & John Oates, John Fogerty and Tedeschi Trucks Band," said organizer and event manager Scot Weicker.
This is the sixth annual GTP. Held annually on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend, the GTP brings multiple generations of Greenwich residents together to celebrate town pride and the spirit of giving through live music, local food favorites and family activities.
The party is a volunteer-supported community event. Sponsorships and substantial donations from town residents and local businesses provide the majority of party funding each year, allowing more people to attend. Because of sponsors and donors, ticket prices have been reduced to a fraction of what they would have been for such a large event. Every donation to the Greenwich Town Party above $25 is matched by one generous donor.
The Town Party is scheduled for Saturday, May 28, at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park.
