Green will discuss the history of discovery, galactic formation and evolution and different types of galaxies, as well as recent discoveries and research and analysis methods. Additionally, Green will cover why knowledge about the estimated 125 to 200 billion galaxies is important to our own planet.
Green is an adjunct professor of physics at the University of Connecticut-Stamford. He received his doctorate degree from the University of Utah.
The free lecture is open to the public and begins at 3:30 p.m.
