The concert is set for 8 p.m. Oct. 26 at St. Catherine of Siena, according to a press release. The group Chanticleer is scheduled to present the "She Said/He Said" concert, which is set to explore "the complex and emotionally charged dialogue between the sexes, an eternal theme for composers, from the bawdiest of Renaissance Madrigals through standards by Cole Porter, by way of Ravel’s dramatic Trois chansons," according to the release.
"In another vein, godliness bestowed upon women is extolled in works by Andrea Gabrieli and the American phenom composer Eric Whitacre," representatives said in the release. "The program will conclude with new arrangements by several arrangers contributing fresh material to Chanticleer’s popular and jazz repertoire."
The concert is scheduled to include the following works, according to the release:
Plainchant – Hildegard von Bingen Regina caeli laetare – Tomás Luis de Victoria Diffusa est gratia – Nanino Vecchie letrose – Adrian Willaert Au joly jeu – Clement Janequin Tirsi morir volea – Andrea Gabrieli Trois chansons – Maurice Ravel A Boy and a Girl – Eric Whitacre So in Love – Cole Porter, arr.
