She has volunteered for the Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut Chapter for many years and was one of the founders of the Greenwich-based Celebrating Hope annual gala.

She was recently recognized as a Champion in the inaugural Fight to End Alzheimer’s Women’s Campaign that launched last July.

“I lost my mother to Alzheimer’s disease far too early," she said. "She was diagnosed when she was just 60 years old. Whatever I can do to raise awareness and fight this disease for my daughters and generations to come, I will do."

The Fairfield County Walk to end Alzheimer's is on Calf Pasture Beach Road in Norwalk on Sunday.
