Greenwich Historical Society Hosting Evening of 'Shocking' Tales

GREENWICH, Conn. -- Staged in a cabaret-like setting, "Story Barn" is a creative approach to oral history that puts a contemporary spin on good, old-fashioned storytelling.

The Greenwich Historical Society will host a "Story Barn" on Friday.

The event is set for 7:30 p.m., Friday, at the Greenwich Historical Society's Vanderbilt Education Center, 39 Strickland Road, Cos Cob.

Storytellers will focus on events in their personal experience that produced emotions of horror, surprise or joy. The theme is in keeping with the society's fall exhibition’s theme, "The New Spirit and the Cos Cob Art Colony: Before and After the Armory Show," an event notable for the display of “shocking” (at the time) works of European art that influenced countless American artists.

Come, sit back, relax and get ready to hear amazing yarns spun by your friends and neighbors.

The event will be emceed by board member and comedian Bonnie Levison. The doors open at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $15 for members and $20 for non-members; space is limited.

Beer, wine and light snacks will be served.

Reserve by going here or calling 203-869-6899, Ext. 10
