During the event, GEMS will recognize employees who have worked at the organizations for 20, 25 and 30 years. In addition to recognizing longtime employees, GEMS will acknowledge outstanding staff, volunteers and Explorer Post members. Scholarships to staff members who are enrolled in an accredited college or university will also be awarded.

The highlight of the evening will be announcing the three Calls of the Year. The patients from the Calls of the Year plan to be in attendance to share their stories and thank the employees who administered the medical care.

“The annual staff awards gives GEMS the opportunity to showcase the lifesaving work we do each day,” said Charlee Tufts, executive director. “This year’s awards will be especially memorable because we get to thank and celebrate the people who have made GEMS so successful these past 30 years – our staff.”

Staff members, current and past board members, police, fire and Greenwich town officials have been invited to this event. The awards ceremony is the first of many events that will occur in the upcoming months to celebrate GEMS’ 30th anniversary.
