Newman is an eight-time All-American triathlete who earned a silver medal at the 2012 Age Group Triathlon World Championships in Auckland, New Zealand. She followed up that performance a year later by setting a triathlon world record at Huntsman Senior Games in Utah.

While Newman's awards and accolades rival those of the most accomplished athlete, what's remarkable is how she managed to train despite undergoing debilitating treatment for advanced breast cancer.

Newman's new book, "Just Three Words," is a gripping story that reveals the incredible power words have to shatter or empower us and the astonishing potential that love has to heal. Newman has inspired thousands as she continued training and competing in triathlons throughout her grueling cancer treatments, and was featured on the NBC Today Show twice because of her rousing message of hope.

The event will be held at 11 a.m. at Wee Burn Country Club in Darien. Tickets start at $125 and are available at their website. A copy of Newman's book will be included with each ticket purchase. For more information, contact Aleksa Lazarewicz-Anstey at alazarewicz@familycenters.org.
