It will be located in Greenwich at 375 Greenwich Ave., with the opening day scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 1, representatives said.
To celebrate the opening day, the shop will offer $1 scoops of all ice cream flavors from noon to 4 p.m.
The chain currently operates locations in New York, California, Texas, Pennsylvania, Colorado, and New Jersey.
Co-founders Ben and Pete Van Leeuwen are both from Greenwich and first began their ice cream journey by renting a Good Humor truck and selling ice cream around the Greenwich area.
“We are so excited to bring Van Leeuwen to our hometown,” Ben Van Leeuwen said. “It’s really special that our first suburban location takes us full circle to the place where we first brought smiles to people’s faces through ice cream back in 2002 before the brand existed. We look forward to sharing good ice cream, made with good ingredients, with the community where we grew up.”
The Greenwich location will be open Mondays through Fridays from noon to 11 p.m and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
