Enter Palm Foods, the entrepreneurial team behind the MIX brand, who put their hunger where their mouths are. The result? Made-to-order breakfasts, salads, and sauté bowls that offer quality food in a fast-casual setting.
Welcome to Greenwich. The healthy eatery opened in April with a menu created under the direction of Chef Fausto Mieres, a graduate of the French Culinary Institute whose kitchen cred includes stints at Norwalk's Oak + Almond and Mexican inspired bartaco in Westport.
The breakfast menu starts out with organic eggs folded into a Greek omelet made with spinach, tomato, and feta, and is rounded out by hearty breakfast sandwiches such as the Californian with scrambled eggs, chicken sausage, cheddar cheese, and avocado in between a griddled whole wheat English muffin.
Steel cut oatmeal with fruit and nut toppings, as well as morning smoothies and rich coffee are also on hand to jumpstart your day.
Lunch and dinner items start with a simple premise -- knowing exactly what goes into each dish. MIX’s signature prep line provides diners with a bird’s eye view of each ingredient-- think crisp lettuce, freshly cut produce, steamed quinoa, and a variety of proteins.
Gluten-free and vegan options are available and plentiful.
MIX is at 19 West Elm St., 203-861-1150, www.mymixkitchen.com.
