Snow, Sleet, Freezing Rain Will Linger Starting Saturday In Fairfield

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- A long stretch of bad weather won't let up in Fairfield County, with snow, sleet and freezing rain in the forecast through the weekend and into Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

Light snow moves into the area after 10 a.m. Saturday, with a high of 33. But wind chills will make it feel closer to 25 degrees. Snow showers will linger Saturday night, with a low around 28. 

Sunday will begin with snow showers that will change over to sleet, freezing rain and rain after noon with a high of 36 degrees. The chance of precipitation is 60 percent with less than a half inch of snow possible. 

The rain will change back over to snow Sunday night as temperatures dip back below freezing. Up to 2 inches of accumulation is possible in some areas. 

Snow will linger into Monday as well with a high of 31. The chance of precipitation is 70 percent.
