Fairfield Neighbors Get Into Snow Removal Beef

The stresses of dealing with this week’s huge snowfall apparently were too much for one set of Fairfield neighbors. An argument over snow removal resulted in breach of peace citations for three Adelaide Street  residents Wednesday afternoon.

Maria Nocerino, 59, and her daughter Dina Nocerino, 30, were shoveling their driveway Wednesday around noon. Their nextdoor neighbor, John Witlock, 73, was using his snow blower in his driveway at the same time. The Nocerinos say Witlock blew his snow into their driveway and onto them, and the three began arguing.

Witlock maintained that his machine was not powerful enough to reach the Nocerinos’ driveway, and reportedly blamed the wind for the fact that snow hit the women. The Nocerinos admitted that they used their shovels to throw snow on Witlock. One also told police that she “hoped he had a heart attack.”

A neighbor across the street saw the incident and agreed that Witlock’s snow did blow into the Nocerinos’ driveway, and that Witlock was correct that they snuck up behind him when they threw their own snow in retaliation. All three were fined and warned to avoid conflicts in the future.
