The storm will make for hazardous driving conditions throughout Fairfield County as well as across all of Connecticut, the Hudson Valley and the metro New York City area.
The snow was expected to move in late Friday night, with the Winter Weather Advisory lasting from midnight to 1 p.m. Saturday. A total of 2 to 4 inches of snow accumulation is expected, with a few hundredths of an inch of ice accumulation.
The snow will change into a wintry mix Saturday morning, with an extended period of freezing rain for northern sections of Fairfield County. Hazardous travel is expected into Saturday as snow and ice accumulates on any untreated surfaces. Drivers should use caution and be prepared for slippery roads and low visibility.
The wintry mix will changed to all rain by Saturday afternoon. The high Saturday will be near 42, with wind chill values between 20 and 30.
Saturday night will see a slight chance of drizzle or light rain before 3 a.m., then rain likely after 3 a.m. with the temperature rising to around 46 by 5 a.m. The chance of precipitation is 60 percent.
Sunday will be unseasonably warm, with temperatures rising to 53 by noon, then falling to 43 during the remainder of the day. There will be rain, mainly before 3 p.m. The chance of precipitation is 90 percent. Sunday night will be mostly cloudy with a low around 19.
