Here's Timing As Coastal Storm Will Merge With Alberta Clipper System
A coastal storm will merge with an Alberta Clipper system, bringing a mix of snow, sleet, and rain, causing slippery travel at the tail end of the workweek.
The merging of the two is expected late in the afternoon and into the evening on Friday, Dec. 20, the National Weather Service says.
Prior to that, there will be a chance for a mix of rain and slow in the morning.
"As the clipper storm nears the Atlantic coast later Friday and Friday night, a transformation will take place," according to AccuWeather.

Tornado Watch Issued For Connecticut, With 60 MPH Wind Gusts, Hail Also Possible
As a slow-moving storm system barrels through the Northeast, a Tornado Watch has now been issued for much of the region until 3 p.m. Sunday, July 16.
It includes parts of southeastern New York -- Long Island, as well as Westchester, and Putnam counties -- as well as all eight counties in Connecticut, and the following counties in Massachusetts: Berkshire, Essex, Franklin, Hampden, Hampshire, Middlesex, and Worcester.

Severe Weather Threat Upgraded For Region: Here's Time Frame For Approaching Thunderstorms
The threat of severe weather from an approaching round of thunderstorms has just been upgraded for most of the region.
Storm activity is expected from west to east from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, April 1.
The area covers New York City, Long Island, Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, and Orange counties, and Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex, and New London counties in Connecticut. (See the image above.)

Complex Storm System Will Bring Soaking Rain, Dangerous Wind Gusts, Wintry Mix, Snowfall
A complex storm system will sweep through the area, bringing heavy rain, dangerous wind gusts that could cause power outages, a wintry mix for parts of the area, and accumulating snow for others.
The time frame for the storm is Friday night, Dec. 4 into Saturday afternoon, Dec. 5.
Wind gusts will be between 40 to 50 miles per hour for most of the region. (See first image above.)

Damaging Wind Gusts Knock Out Power To Thousands In Fairfield County
Thousands of Fairfield County residents lost power as wind gusts reaching upwards of 65 mph sent power lines flying.
As of 3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7, Eversource was reporting dozens of outages impacting 12,406 of their 1,278,540 Connecticut customers.
Danbury was hit the hardest, with 2,759 customers reporting outages, with more than 100 outages reported in New Canaan, and Newtown. Outages were also reported in Greenwich, Redding, and Westport.
A total of 288 United Illuminating customers are also without power, led by Shelton with 76.
