It was a huge Friday for two Nutmeggers who walked away with six-figure lottery wins. A $30 lottery bet turned into a $766,674 jackpot for one lucky player in Danbury. The Connecticut State Lottery said a $30 High Roller Progressive ticket purchased on Friday, Feb. 21, delivered the massive payout. More Than 100 Cited For Underage Drinking At Bar Near Quinnipiac University
More than 100 underage drinkers were cited during a "liquor compliance check" at the popular nightclub Clubhouse Café near Quinnipiac University. The raid took place Friday, Jan. 25, by members of the Hamden Police Department Street Interdiction Team, along with the patrol and traffic divisions at the club located at 3816 Whitney Ave., said Hamden Police Capt. New Underage Drinking Bust Nets Another 100-Plus In Area
The number of underage drinking busts are growing as area police continue to crack down on nightclubs and stores that sell to college students and other underage patrons. The first bust took place at Johnny Utah’s in Norwalk where police found more than 100 underage patrons, most Fairfield University students, followed by a bust on April 20 by Hamden police were another 100 underage people were found drinking at The Clubhouse on Whitney, according to Hamden Police Capt.
