Covid-19: New Positive Case Reported At School In Westport A person at a Fairfield County elementary school has tested positive for COVID-19, causing the school to take special measures. On Monday, Nov. 2, Janna Sirowich, Principal of Coleytown Elementary School, announced by email to parents that the person has been instructed to quarantine at home. Covid-19: School District In Fairfield County Goes Remote After Student Tests Positive A school district in Fairfield County has shifted to remote learning for Monday, Sept. 21 after a student tested positive for COVID-19. The Weston Public School District said it learned of the positive case at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20. "We need at least Monday to do additional contact tracing to determine the potential spread of COVID-19 in the district," a statement posted on the district website said.  The district said it's working with the Westport/Weston Health District as well as its medical advisor. Covid-19: Westport, Once CT Epicenter, Sees First Day With No New Cases Since Start Of Pandemic Westport, once the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) epicenter following a house party in which an infected partygoer spread the virus to dozens of others, has seen its first day without an increase in the number of cases. According to state numbers, Westport remained at 174 reported COVID-19 cases on Monday, April 13, the same number of cases reported on Sunday, April 12.  Weston saw an increase of one case from 39 to 40 recorded cases.
