Weston 20-Year-Old Accused Of Stealing Wallet From Westport YMCA, Using Credit Cards
A Fairfield County man was charged with larceny after allegedly stealing a wallet from a gym and using the credit cards inside.
Massimo Zhong, 20, of Weston, was arrested on Monday, July 8, for the June incident at the Westport/Weston YMCA.
According to Lt. Eric Woods of the Westport Police, officers started an investigation after the theft was reported, and they found that the credit cards were used in Norwalk shortly after being stolen.

A potent storm system packed with damaging winds has knocked out power to thousands in Connecticut.
At around 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 29, Eversource reported around 3,400 customers with power statewide, and United Illuminated another 55.
The most outages are in the following locations: Union (354), Wilton (221), West Hartford (216), Ridgefield (199), New Milford (145), Thompson (137), Greenwich (127), and Weston (101).

A Fairfield County teen was charged with alleged breach of peace after getting into a fight over a cell phone.
Annabelle Capola, age 19, of Weston, turned herself in to Darien Police on Monday, Jan. 15 for the Wednesday, Jan. 3 incident.
According to Sgt. Dan Skoumbros of the Darien Police, the victim reported that they had gotten into a "physical altercation" with Capola regarding a cell phone in the parking lot of the Darien Library.

A Fairfield County man has been arrested for allegedly renovating an area home without a contractor's license, or getting the permits or inspections.
John Tate, age 65, of Weston, was arrested on Wednesday, Jan. 26, by Wilton Police for performing the renovations on a Wilton home.

Covid-19: Weston Public School District Announces Shift To Remote Learning
With a rise in the number of COVID-19 cases and lack of staff, the Weston School District is shifting all schools to remote learning effective next week.
Superintendent William S. McKersie said that effective Monday, Dec. 14, the entire WPS District will shift to remote learning through Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021.
The remote mode will be full school days for all students, except for those already designated early release days, said McKersie.

Power has been restored to thousands in Connecticut, but more than 30,000 are still waiting for crews to make repairs a week after Tropical Storm Isaias struck Fairfield County.
As of 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 30,634 of Eversource’s 1,281,332 Connecticut customers were still waiting to have their power turned back on. An additional 174 United Illuminating customers were also dealing with outages.
