The much anticipated first Wegmans grocery store in the state is slated to begin construction in Fairfield County this spring. Located in Norwalk off Route 1 at 47 Richards Ave., work has already begun on the unique parking structure for shoppers. Wegmans is going all-in on its plastic bag ban. Wegmans is warning customers that some personal information may have been exposed to hackers due to a recent data breach. The grocery giant issued an alert this week to notify customers that two databases used for Wegmans internal business purposes were inadvertently left open to potential outside access due to a configuration issue. The grocery giant announced that seven-pound bags of “Wegmans Bagged Ice” has been recalled due to the possibility of metal shavings in the package.
