CT Town Increases Staffing After 46 Vehicle Burglaries In Week
In just the past week one Connecticut police department has responded to 46 vehicle burglaries. The crimes are taking place in New Haven County in North Haven. "Criminals are smashing windows to locked vehicles and looking for items of value," the North Haven Police Department said. The crimes are taking place throughout town in commercial parking lots and residential neighborhoods. A CT Lottery player in Connecticut is feeling lucky after cashing in a six-figure scratch-off ticket worth nearly a million dollars. In Hartford County, a New Britain resident won $825,000 playing "$1,000,000 Golden Riches" on a scratch-off ticket sold in New Haven County at the BP gas station on Washington Avenue in North Haven. Person Of Interest In Yale Grad Student Death Considered 'Armed And Dangerous'
Police have identified a person of interest in the shooting death of a Yale University grad student. Kevin Jiang, age 26, was shot to death on Lawrence Street between Nicoll and Nash streets in New Haven on Saturday, Feb. 6, said New Haven Police. Police Chief Otoniel Reyes said Wednesday the department searching for Qinxuan Pan, age 29, in connection with Jiang’s death. Amazon Breaks Ground On $255 Million Warehouse In Connecticut
Construction crews have broken ground for the next home of Amazon’s warehouse on Washington Avenue in North Haven. The $255 million project is expected to be completed by June 2019. The warehouse will create 1,800 jobs, and ultimately 3,000, First Selectman Michael Freda told The Connecticut Post.. The warehouse will span about 1.2 million square feet, roughly the same size as the former Pratt & Whitney facility that it succeeds. Amazon would become the largest company to enter the region since Pratt and Whitney left in 2001.
