Increase In Thefts From Commercial Vehicles, Bridgeport Police Say Bridgeport Police are warning residents who drive work-type vans of a recent uptick in thefts from commercial vehicles. On Friday, Oct. 4, police issued an advisory after several accounts of theft from work vans, said Rowena White, spokeswoman for the Bridgeport Police Department. Most of the thefts included tools from vehicles across the city, police said. "Citizens are advised to take the time to remove tools from their vehicles at the end of a workday and secure them in a shed or garage if a vehicle must be left on the street," said White.
