Stamford Native, Longtime New Canaan Firefighter Angelo Gesualdi Dies At 75 Angelo John Gesualdi a lifetime resident of New Canaan and longtime firefighter, died Saturday of a heart attack with his family by his side.  He was 75. Gesualdi was born on May 16, 1943, in Stamford to the late Vito and Vera Coco Gesualdi. He was a firefighter with the New Canaan Fire Department for 34 years and was ranked as a Captain of the department. During his retirement, Gesualdi loved to start his mornings with his firehouse family and greeting each day “uptown,” seeing friends and keeping up with the community.
