Recall Issued For 226K Smoke-Carbon Monoxide Alarms That Don't Sound Alert For Fires More than 226,000 faulty combination smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are being recalled because they may fail to provide alerts if a fire was to break out. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced that seven Kidde models - Series 2040, 2050, 2060, and 2070 smoke and combination smoke/carbon monoxide alarms (see above) - are included in the recall. Morning Fire Severely Damages Milford Home An early morning fire severely damaged a single family residence in Milford.  Fire dispatchers received a 911 call around 3:55 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, reporting a fire in the single-story ranch-style home at 42 Windsong Lane in Milford, said Milford Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Anthony Fabrizi. Members of the Nichols Fire Department were dispatched to Round Ridge Trail in Trumbull shortly after midnight on Wednesday, Jan. 9, where there was a report of a lightning strike and the smell of smoke in a local home.
