CT Man Admits To Violating Federal Sex Offender Registration, Notification Act
A Connecticut man has pleaded guilty to two counts of failing to register as a sex offender. New Haven County resident Christopher Poskus, age 47, of Waterbury, pleaded guilty to the charges on Thursday, Oct. 14, according to Leonard Boyle, acting United States attorney for the District of Connecticut. The Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act requires sex offenders to register and keep their registration current in the jurisdictions where they live, work or go to school. Man Arrested In Stamford Admits Violating Sex Offender Registration Laws
A registered sex offender with a pair of convictions has admitted to violating the Sex Offender Registration and Notification act when he moved from New York to Connecticut without notifying authorities. Isiah Duncan, 36, pleaded guilty in Bridgeport district court following his arrest in Fairfield County last year on an unrelated Connecticut warrant. A convicted sex offender who forced a teenager to view sexual activity has been sentenced after admitting to failing to register as a sex offender in Connecticut for nearly two years after claiming he moved to Puerto Rico. A registered sex offender convicted of rape is heading back to prison after failing to notify authorities about his move to Connecticut. Waterbury resident Byron Elliott Vaughn, 32, was sentenced in Bridgeport District Court to 24 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release for violating the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act by failing to disclose his move from Virginia into the area. A 39-year-old resident of Danbury and citizen of Ecuador has been charged with illegally reentering he United States and failing to register as a sex offender.
