Arrest Made In Beating Death Of Bridgeport Homeless Man
Police have arrested a Bridgeport man for the alleged brutal beating death of a homeless person.
The assault took place in Bridgeport around 9:15 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 11, in the 800 block of Fairfield Ave., said Scott Appleby, director of Emergency Management for Bridgeport.
When officers arrived, they found the victim, 49-year-old Daniel Engeldrum, suffering from a head injury. Endgeldrum, who was homeless, was taken to Saint Vincent’s Hospital, where he died from his injuries two days later, on Friday, Jan. 13, Appleby said.

Fairfield County Man Found Shot Dead In Front Yard Of Home, Police Say
A man was shot dead in the front yard of a home in Fairfield County, authorities said.
Andre Brown, age 36, of Bridgeport, was found around 10 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 2, in the front yard of a home at 100 Marcel St., in Bridgeport.
According to Captain Kevin Gilleran, of the Bridgeport Police, emergency personnel located Brown lying in the front yard at that location and quickly transported him to Saint Vincent’s Hospital where he later died.

Fairfield County Man Wanted For Murder, Surrenders To Police
A Fairfield County man wanted in connection with the murder of his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend has surrendered to police.
Miguel Rojas, age 28, of Bridgeport, surrendered to police to face charges in connection to the Friday, Dec. 3 homicide of Jalen Parilla, said Scott Appleby, director of Emergency management for Bridgeport.
According to witnesses, Rojas, who has two children with his ex-girlfriend, shot Parilla, age 37, of Stratford.
After the shooting, Parilla was rushed to Saint Vincent's Hospital where he died a short time later.

Fairfield County Man Shot Dead Steps Away From Nightclub, Police Say
A Fairfield County man was found shot to death just steps away from a popular nightclub he had just left.
Raheem Lynch, age 24, of Bridgeport, was killed around 2 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 6, just minutes after exiting, Mystique nightclub at 2456 Main St., in Bridgeport.
According to Scott Appleby, director of the Bridgeport Emergency Management, the shooting occurred only a few doors away from the club. A friend of Lynch drove him to Saint Vincent’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Josiah J. Israel, age 37, and Christopher Mojica, age 35, both of Bridgeport, were arrested on Wednesday, June 2 by Bridgeport Police.

A Bridgeport man killed after being hit by two vehicles trapped underneath one, has been identified.
Antoine Simutone, also known as Aaron, 38, of Park Avenue, was hit at 8:45 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Park and Olive streets, said Av Harris, the City of Bridgeport's director of legislative affairs/public policy.
