Newly Released Stats Show Increase In Auto Thefts, Larcenies From Vehicles In Greenwich
Greenwich Police said new stats show that an increase in the number of motor vehicle thefts is up this year. To date there have been 52 reported car thefts, said Greenwich Police Lt. John Slusarz. "The vast majority of these involved situations where the vehicles were unlocked and the keys were in them," Slusarz said. In addition, the department has seen an increase in the number of vehicle burglaries with 88 reported incidents so far this year. Police are encouraging and urging local residents to lock their doors and take valuables inside at night following a series of thefts from cars in the area.
