Date For Route 1 Paving Project Changed There has been a change of plans, leading to delays for motorists in Fairfield County on a busy Norwalk roadway sooner than expected. The Norwalk Department of Public Works issued an alert regarding a road resurfacing project on East Avenue, from Route 1 to East Wall Street, which has been moved up to begin on the night of Thursday, Sept. 6. The DPW said that work is expected to take place between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., through the conclusion of the project.

Expect Delays: Long Ridge Road Resurfacing Starts There will be lane closures in Stamford for several days as crews begin a road resurfacing project in on Long Ridge Road. The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced that beginning on Monday, May 14, there will be a 2.7-mile project performed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the road that is expected to last through Friday, May 18. During the scope of the project, lane closures have been scheduled on Long Ridge Road from the .28 mile north of Route 15 underpass to the 0.11 mile south of Riverbank Road. The Connecticut Department of Transportation resurfaced a total of 260 two-lane miles of roadways this construction season, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy announced.  Aboutt 55 two-lane miles of that amount was completed under CTDOT’s Pavement Preservation Program, which includes crack filling, surface patching, drainage repairs, and other rehabilitation work to extend the life of existing roadways.
