As the death toll from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic rises to 30 in Ridgefield, the town announced its golf course will reopen. The number of positive COVID-19 tests as of Tuesday, April 28, is 155, with the death toll reaching 30. The number of residents who have died at a Fairfield County assisted-living facility has jumped to 16. A senior spokesperson for Ridgefield Crossing in Ridgefield said that as of Tuesday, April 14, they could confirm that 16 residents, "beloved members of our community, have passed away after becoming positive for COVID-19." In one day there are 16 new reported cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Ridgefield, considered one of Fairfield County's hotspots.
