CT Stop & Shop Employees Vote To Strike
Hundreds of Stop & Shop employees in Connecticut voted unanimously to go on strike as they continue contract negotiations. More than 600 members of the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 371 union in Westport authorized the strike, which they’ve been threatening since their contract with the retailer expired last month. Thousands of Stop & Shop employees could go on strike as their contract with the company expired over the weekend. Members of the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1445 union “overwhelmingly” voted to authorize a potential strike as they continue negotiating with Stop & Shop officials.
