Teen In Fatal Crash Was Driving Too Fast, Under Influence, Police Say
A teen involved in a crash that killed a Litchfield County resident was allegedly driving too fast and under the influence, according to the Connecticut State Police.
Christopher Hoyt, 18, of Sharon, was arrested on Friday following the crash on Housatonic River Road in Salisbury, said Trooper Kelly Grant.
The crash occurred around 7:34 p.m. Friday, July 20 when Hoyt lost control of his vehicle while rounding a corner, rode up an embankment, on the right shoulder of the road, and overturned coming to rest in the roadway, Grant said.

Wilton police arrested an area man after he wrecked his vehicle and then fled into the woods before being apprehended by police.
John O'Donnell Underwood, 22, of Wilton, was taken into custody around 2:18 p.m. Saturday, after Wilton police responded to a report of a rollover crash on Grumman Hill Road, said Lt. Robert Kluk.
When officers responded Underwood had fled the scene and then later returned after running through the woods, said Kluk.
