The incident occurred around 6:50 p.m. The train had departed from Grand Central Station just before 6 p.m. Delays of a half-hour or more following the incident last for several hours. Original report: Metro-North customers are experiencing delays of 35 minutes or more on the New Haven Line late Monday afternoon.
