Lifelong Fairfield County Resident Who Was Beloved Preschool Teacher Dies At 28 Friends and loved ones are mourning the death of beloved Fairfield County preschool teacher, Emily Griffin. The lifelong Ridgefield resident died Thursday, July 21, at the age of 28 following a long illness, according to her obituary.  “It is with a heavy heart that I must advise my Facebook friends that my beloved daughter Emily Nora Griffin passed away this evening after a long and difficult illness,” Griffin’s father, Tim, wrote on Facebook. “She was a fighter to the end. New Canaan High School Hall Of Fame Coach Keith MacBain Has Died Keith MacBain died at his home in Southampton on Sunday, Sept. 13 due to complications from Parkinson’s Disease.  Keith was born in Englewood, NJ, and lived on a small farm in Closter, NJ, where his father ran a kennel. He later attended Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts and graduated in 1956. He received a B.A. in English from Cornell University in 1960 and an M.A. from Columbia Teachers College in 1964.  He married Cynthia Loring in August of 1960, and they moved to Homewood, Illinois, to teach for two years. Friends and family remembered 2016 Newtown High School graduate Nicholas Eisele at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 28 during a memorial service in the parking lot of St. Rose of Lima Church in Newtown. ID Released For Man, 54, Killed After Crash Into Trumbull Home A 54-year-old Trumbull man who died after driving his pickup truck into a home has been identified. Eric Gabrielson, of Oldfield Road, was killed around 7 p.m., Friday, May 3, in the area of Daniels Farm Road during a two-vehicle crash that ended with the pickup truck hitting the side of a home, said Trumbull Police Lt. Brian Weir. According to Weir, the pick-up truck and a sedan collided, and the pick-up truck eventually came in contact with a nearby residence. Jason Cooper, wide receivers coach at New Canaan High School, was 52. Cooper was a captain of Duke’s football team in 1987.
