Man Threatens to Kill Woman, Family Before Refusing To Surrender To Police A 38-year-old Milford man was arrested after threatening to kill a woman and her family before barricading himself in his home. Matthew Smith, of Milford, was arrested around 11:30 p.m. Monday following an hours-long stand-off, said Officer Joseph Dempsey, the spokesman the Milford Police. The incident unfolded around 3:15 a.m. Monday when the woman went to the Milford Police Department to report a past domestic violence incident which had occurred at a Falmouth Street home.
