Duo Accused Of Stealing 1,000 Gallons Of Cooking Oil In Connecticut Two New York men are facing charges after authorities said they stole more than 1,000 gallons of cooking oil in Connecticut and then led police on a pursuit. The owner of Pizza Palace Restaurant in Middlesex County called police at about 9:40 a.m. on Thursday, June 9, to report that he had interrupted the theft of cooking oil at his restaurant, according to the Old Saybrook Police Department. K-9 Helps Catch Suspect In Fairfield Restaurant Burglaries A K-9 officer was used to find a suspect hiding under a van after he was observed attempting to break in to a pair of popular Post Road restaurants, police said. It happened just before 3 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12 at Luigi’s Restaurant at 170 Post Road in Fairfield.  The first responding officer saw a man wearing a striped shirt running from the back of the building, according to Fairfield Police.
