4 Rescued From Long Island Sound In Norwalk During Height Of Severe Storm Four people who were not wearing life jackets were rescued from the waters of the Long Island Sound in Fairfield County.  The incident occurred in Norwalk on Saturday, Aug. 3. According to members of the Norwalk Police Department's Marine Unit, the rescue took place during a large thunderstorm on Aug. 3 after the men's boat capsized. The department said that because there were no personal floatation devices onboard the vessel, the men had to tread water until help arrived. No one was injured. Four Rescued After Boat Capsizes In Long Island Sound Four people were rescued from the waters of Long Island Sound after the catamaran capsized while attempting to anchor. The incident took place around 1:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 13, near Fishers Island, said Coast Guard spokesman Petty Officer Hunter Medley. Medley said the group was attempting to drop anchor when the boat capsized. Three were rescued from the waters by a passing Good Samaritan, a third was rescued by Coast Guard officials out of New London, Connecticut.  Officials say the victims were in the water for about 20 minutes and were suffering from mild hypothermia.
