New Animal Cruelty Case Stems From CT Dogfighting Investigation, Police Say An investigation into dogfighting in Connecticut in July has led investigators to uncover a new animal cruelty case. Connecticut State Police reported that a search warrant was executed at 109 Britannia St. in the New Haven County Town of Meriden on Saturday, July 31.  Authorities seized a number of items associated with dogfighting, including shock collars, whips, scales and more. New Canaan Police Take Custody Of Wanted Larceny Suspect In Ansonia A suspect is in police custody more than a year after he allegedly stole an iPhone from a car parked in a New Canaan driveway. Members of the New Canaan Police Department traveled to Ansonia at approximately 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26, to take Bridgeport resident Jose Rivera into custody on an active arrest warrant for larceny and burglary.
