Monroe Mourns Death Of Popular Middle School Basketball Coach Family, friends, and students of a Fairfield County teacher and popular middle school basketball coach are mourning his sudden death. Panagiotis "Pete" Simoulidis, age 44, of Monroe, a Jockey Hollow Middle School basketball coach, died on Wednesday, July 12, according to his obituary. The cause and manner of his death are still under review by the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. No foul play is suspected. Support, Counseling Offered For Middle School Students After Monroe Eighth-Grader's Suicide The school community is rallying around students at the Jockey Hollow Middle School in Connecticut following the apparent suicide of an eighth-grader. On Friday, May 10, an eighth-grader reportedly died at home, committing suicide, Jockey Hollow principal school principal Jack Ceccolini wrote in a letter to parents over the weekend. The students were informed of the incident on Monday morning, May 13 during an extended homeroom.
