During the time of year when snakes are most active, Connecticut officials have released guidance on how residents should react when encountering snakes on their property. A most unexpected porch pirate was caught on camera making off with a Connecticut resident’s package of toilet paper recently. In a video that has since gone viral, Hartford County resident Kirstin Levine, of Bristol, posted a home surveillance video on social media that showed a bear sauntering up her family’s driveway with a missing Amazon package in its mouth on Monday, Aug. 23. An unprecedented number of black bears have ambled into the homes of unsuspecting Connecticut residents in 2020, some seriously injuring leashed and unleashed dogs therein, according to the state's Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
