Alert Issued After Tick Species Found To Be Established In Fairfield A Fairfield County town is urging residents to take precautions following the discovery that Asian longhorned ticks have become well-established in the area. The Town of Fairfield announced on Tuesday, June 21, that researchers at Western Connecticut State University’s Tickborne Disease Prevention Laboratory discovered a week earlier that the ticks were found on a resident's dog. Wanted Man Nabbed After Side-Swiping Mail Truck, Fleeing In Fairfield A 54-year-old Fairfield man was arrested for several offenses after side-swiping a U.S. Postal truck and then taking off instead of waiting for the police, according to the Fairfield Police. William Brown was arrested Friday, Aug. 17, after Fairfield Police received a 911 call reporting a motor vehicle collision in front of Tile America and that the vehicle at fault was fleeing the scene, said Lt.
