Agreement Reached For $9.5 Billion Project To Create New Terminal 1 At JFK
State officials say that an agreement has been reached for a $9.5 billion project to create a new international terminal at John F. Kennedy International Airport. Gov. Kathy Hochul announced on Monday, Dec. 13, that the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey reached a revised agreement with The New Terminal One, an association of financial sponsors, to build the 2.4 million-square-foot terminal. Lane Closures Scheduled For I-95 Roadwork
A series of lane closures have been scheduled for I-95 in Westchester, according to the New York State Thruway Authority. One lane of I-95 northbound and I-287 eastbound will close Friday, Sept. 6 at 10 p.m. until Monday, Sept. 9 at 6 a.m. as road crews install precast pavement slabs as part of the “Last Mile” infrastructure project. The closure will affect I-95 northbound from just past exit 21 at mile marker 14.0 to the Connecticut state line. I-95 Gridlock Alert Warning Issued For Weekend
Police departments in the area have issued a gridlock warning as a result of a major project on I-95 in Stamford, which will result in delays stretching back into Westchester. Advising motorists to “plan for the worst,” police say road crews will be replacing a bridge in Stamford over I-95 at Exit 9, and the interstate will be closed in both directions. This is likely to impact local streets in town during the following two weekends: Friday, May 31 to Sunday, June 2 and Saturday, June 8 to Sunday, June 9.
