Store Manager Accused Of Selling Alcohol To Kids In Fairfield County
A manager at a store in Fairfield County has been accused of selling alcohol to minors in addition to having 3.5 pounds of cocaine as well as illegal fireworks and hard liquor. Michael Vegas, age 41, was busted on Wednesday, July 7, during a joint operation between the Bridgeport Police and the state Liquor Commission for spot checks at beer and grocery stores suspected of selling alcohol to minors. Police: Man Lights Illegal Fireworks, Causing Large Brush Fire In Fairfield
A man has been charged with lighting illegal fireworks that caused a large brush fire to break out in Fairfield County, police say. Steven Botelho, 38, of Fairfield was arrested on Monday, Aug. 24 in connection to the incident that happened earlier this summer. At about 8:45 p.m. on Sunday, June 21, the Fairfield Police Department received numerous reports of aerial fireworks in the area of Chestnut Street/Kings Highway in Fairfield. Illegal Fireworks Display Causes Late-Night Fire At Fairfield Condo Complex
An illegal fireworks display is being blamed for a Fourth of July fire at a Fairfield condominium complex. The structure fire was reported at 10:58 p.m. Thursday, July 4 at 4021 Park Ave., according to the Fairfield Fire Department. A sleeping resident was awakened by the sound of the fire and alerted her family and called 911, said the department.
