One Dead, One Injured In Single-Vehicle I-84 Crash One person was killed and another injured in a single-vehicle crash on I-84 westbound, Connecticut State Police said. The crash took place around 7:45 p.m., Thursday, July 25,  near Exit 18 in Waterbury when the driver of the vehicle lost control and struck the metal beam guardrail, said the Connecticut State Police. Both the driver and a passenger were ejected from the vehicle, state police said. One sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
