Two Families Displaced By Quick-Moving Stamford Fire Two families have been displaced following a quick-moving blaze in Stamford, officials say. Stamford Fire Department officials say they observed a column of dense, black smoke in the area of Shippan Avenue and Cove Road on Tuesday, Oct. 1 around 3 p.m. Fire crews dispatched the department and determined that the fire was coming from a garage in the area of Wardwell Street and Fredrick Street. Two Families Displaced In Westport Fire Two Westport families were displaced from their homes following a stove fire at a townhome complex on Post Road East, according to the Westport Fire Department. The Westport Fire Department received a call from the resident around 5:40 p.m., Tuesday, at 1655 Post Road East, Unit 2901, reporting a stove fire, Westport Fire officials said.
