New England Native Matthew Perry Dies: Star of 'Friends,' Films New England's own Matthew Perry, best known as the sarcastic, spastic, and overly-dramatic Chandler Bing on "Friends," died unexpectedly at his Los Angeles home on Saturday, Oct. 28, multiple outlets reported.  The Berkshire County native was just 54 years old.  Police were called to his home around 4 p.m. and found him unresponsive in his hot tub. No drugs were found at the scene, and no foul play is expected, according to the LA Times. The men were stopped around 12:45 a.m., Wednesday, July 24, when troopers spotted the 2018 Chevy Suburban they were in traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on the highway in Milford, said the Connecticut State Police.
