A new storm system with the potential for snow squalls could cause hazardous driving conditions over the weekend, according to a brand-new advisory by the National Weather Service. A large-scale and massive winter storm moving across the country will bring a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain that is expected to cause hazardous driving conditions followed by icy conditions over the weekend after a drop in temperatures. A massive winter storm barreling across the country will bring a mix of snow, sleet and rain that is expected to cause hazardous driving conditions in much of the region at the end of the workweek. Projected snowfall totals climbed again as a winter storm causing hazardous driving conditions and school closures throughout the Northeast has spread across the region. The storm system arrived late Thursday night, Jan. 6, and is expected to push off the East Coast by around midday Friday, Jan. 7. New Snowfall Projections Released For Quick-Moving Storm Moving Through Region
A quick-moving storm system arrived in the area just after daybreak on Tuesday, Feb. 9, bringing a mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain to the area and creating hazardous driving conditions in parts of the region. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 4 a.m. Tuesday to 1 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10 for the areas shown in the first image above.
