Suspect Nabbed In CT Gas Station Robbery
A 30-year-old man has been accused of robbing a Connecticut gas station at gunpoint. The incident happened at about 4:50 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 14, in New London County at the Petro Max gas station in Griswold, located at 136 Preston Road, according to Connecticut State Police. Police said Michael Riegel, a resident of Preston in New London County, was arrested on Tuesday, April 5. Riegel was accused of entering the gas station with his face covered with a mask, displaying a handgun, and demanding money from the clerk. One of two suspects in Connecticut is facing charges after allegedly assaulting and robbing someone during a planned transaction, police said. In Hartford County, police were dispatched to an area of Tariff Street in Enfield at approximately 6:45 p.m. on Monday, March 28, where there was a report of a robbery that had just taken place. A man turned himself in after an arrest warrant charged him with killing a local boxer. Deontae Boykin, 23, is accused of shooting 27-year-old Raymond "Goldito" Sierra outside his home in Bridgeport on Union Avenue on Thursday, Sept. 24. Social media helped police track down a suspect involved in an armed robbery scam in Fairfield County, police said. The Fairfield Emergency Communications Center received a report of a robbery that took place shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7, Hunyadi Avenue. Police said that a woman reported that she arranged to meet a man in the area to sell a phone through an online social media site. A stolen vehicle pursuit by Westchester County Police led to a crash at Playland Parkway and I-95 in Rye. A 48-year-old man with a lengthy rap sheet has admitted to raping and robbing a woman on her way home from the Fairfield train station in 2016. With his trial approaching, New Haven resident Michael Fontaine pleaded guilty in court to first-degree sexual assault and first-degree robbery on Friday. He is scheduled to be sentenced on April 26, when he is expected to be handed a 25-year term behind bars. BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Police are asking for the public’s assistance in finding a 17-year-old who is the suspect in an October homicide. The Fugitive Task Force has an arrest warrant for Jahmari “Wack” Cooper, who they hope to charge in the fatal shooting of Jeri “Racks” Kollock on Oct. 11, police said.
