Drug Bust: Shelton Police Find Man With Narcotics, Guns, More
A Connecticut man has been taken into custody after the belief he was running a narcotics ring in the area led police to search his home.
On Tuesday, Dec. 19 in Fairfield County, the Shelton Police Department raided the home of Carlos Baez Jr., age 28.
The department, alongside the Statewide Narcotics Task Force Southwest Office (SNTF-SW), Statewide Urban Violence Cooperative Crime Control Task Force, the Connecticut State Police Violent Crime Task Force, the DEA, and more suspected that Baez, a Shelton resident, was distributing narcotics throughout the greater Valley area.

A Connecticut man will spend years behind bars for shooting a 17-year-old boy to death while he talked to his girlfriend.
Kiyon Matheney, age 26, of New Haven, was sentenced on Tuesday, Dec.12, to 33 years in prison for the fatal shooting of John Tubac-Saquil of New Haven in July 2022.
Matheney was found guilty by a jury of manslaughter with a firearm and carrying a firearm without a permit, said John Doyle Jr., State’s Attorney for the Judicial District of New Haven.

Five people were arrested following a lengthy police chase, including on I-84, after police saw shots coming from the vehicle.
The incident started just before 6 p.m. in Hartford on Thursday, Aug. 11 when detectives in an unmarked police vehicle in the Broad Street area when the officers saw shots being fired from a white Honda Passport.

A Connecticut teenager has been charged with manslaughter in the death of another man who he allegedly shot while firing a gun in the man's vehicle.
Charles Hill, age 19, of New Haven, was arrested on Wednesday, March 9, in connection with the Saturday, Jan, 15 shooting death of 22-year-old Herman Bellamy in Hamden.
Hill was allegedly firing a gun inside Bellamy's vehicle at another vehicle when a bullet struck Bellamy, who was driving, killing him, said Det. Sean Dolan, of the Hamden Police Department.

Troopers busted two felons for drugs and guns, following a routine traffic stop on I-95 in Fairfield County, according to state police.
The two, Sarah Allen, 28, and William Page, 29, both of Maine, were stopped around 11:49 p.m. Sunday by troopers from Troop G -Bridgeport on I-95 in Darien after committing a motor vehicle violation, state police said.
