Man Rescued After Falling Through Ice In Fairfield In a dramatic rescue, a man was saved by three Good Samatarians after falling through the ice of a Fairfield County lake while attempting to save his dog. The incident began in the Town of Fairfield around 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 22, when the Fairfield Emergency Communications Center received a call reporting a 24-year-old man had fallen through the ice at Lake Mohegan, said Fairfield Fire Department Asst. 'Jaws Of Life' Used To Extricate Woman After Serious Crash In Fairfield A 28-year-old woman received serious injuries during a two-vehicle crash in the Town of Fairfield Tuesday night. Dozens of callers alerted the Fairfield Emergency Communications Center of the crash that took place around 9:14 p.m. at the intersection of North Benson and the Post roads, according to the Fairfield Fire Department.
