An Emmy Award-winning meteorologist at CBS New York has died unexpectedly. Elise Finch, who was 51 years old, died over the weekend at a local hospital, the station announced. The cause of death has not been determined. Finch was an on-air fixture at WCBS for 16 years, joining the station in 2007. A CBS News producer and talent executive died from novel coronavirus (COVID-19) at the age of 54. Maria Mercader, who has worked at CBS for nearly three decades in various positions, died on Sunday, March 29 in a New York City hospital, officials said. She had been in medical leave for an unrelated matter since late February prior to her hospitalization for COVID-19. Denise D'Ascenzo, the longtime and award-winning news anchor for CBS-TV affiliate WFSB in Connecticut, died suddenly at her home Saturday night, Dec. 7. She was 61.
